Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art (Intuit) welcomes three new board members, Kahil El’Zabar, Maya Sonal Patel and Vincent Uribe. 

CHICAGO– Amidst this spooky season, Intuit art museum will host a fundraiser and costume party this Friday the 13th with a goal to raise $16,000. The fundraiser proceeds support the museum’s art-education programming like IntuiTeens, the Teacher Fellowship Program and its upcoming 2024 marquee exhibition.

Intuit opens Purvis Young: Works on Paper and Recent Acquisitions, two exhibitions that showcase new additions to the museum’s growing collection. The exhibitions will run through Labor Day, after which Intuit will close to the public to begin renovations to its facility.

March 18, 2023—CHICAGO—Hand Drawn Circle: Arts of Life Studio Past and Present, an exhibition that brings together works by former and current Arts of Life artists, opens at Intuit with free admission and extended hours on Thursday, March 23.

Jan. 26, 2023—CHICAGO—In partnership with Project Onward, Intuit opens the exhibition What Are Words For? with free admission and extended hours on Friday, Feb. 3.

Jan. 12, 2023—CHICAGO—Ted Degener: At Home with Artists, the photographer’s first major exhibition, showcases portraits and videos of makers of art environments within and among their grand works of art. 

Dec. 14, 2022—CHICAGO—Intuit received a Community Development Grant of $5 million from the City of Chicago as part of Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot’s Chicago Recovery Plan, supporting the museum’s renovation of its existing building to increase audience space and expand institutional reach.

June 6, 2022—CHICAGO—Roman Villarreal: South Chicago Legacies, the first major retrospective exhibition of the work of artist Roman Villarreal, opens at Intuit to the public on Friday, June 17, with extended hours and free admission.

January 27, 2022—CHICAGO—Intuit is pleased to announce it has been awarded an American Rescue Plan (ARP) grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), a grant award intended to help the arts and cultural sector recover from the pandemic.

November 19, 2021—CHICAGO—The Life and Death of Charles Williams, an exhibition featuring a breadth of work ranging from sculptures to comics by the late artist Charles Williams, stretches across two galleries of Intuit and opens to the public on Friday, December 10.

October 8, 2021—CHICAGO—In honor of the museum’s late founder Susann Craig, who passed away earlier this year, Intuit opens Building a Legacy, an exhibition featuring works of art from its collection donated by Craig, on view beginning Thursday, October 14.
