Visiting
What are IAM hours?
IAM is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm, and every third Thursday from 11 am to 8 pm
Are you open late?
IAM is open until 8 pm on the Third Thursday of each month.
Can I purchase museum admission tickets in advance of my visit?
IAM does not currently offer online ticketing. Admission is paid upon entrance to the Museum.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit cards, debit cards and cash at our admissions desk and in the store.
Where do I park?
Metered street parking is available nearby on Milwaukee Avenue, Ogden Avenue and
Aberdeen Street.
A paid parking lot is located at Spoke, 728 N. Morgan St.

Is the museum accessible by public transportation?
Yes, IAM is located near the Chicago Avenue stop on the CTA Blue Line. The closest bus stops to the main entrance of the Museum are the #56 Milwaukee Avenue bus at the Chicago Avenue Blue Line stop and the #66 Chicago Avenue Bus at the Milwaukee Avenue stop.
Can I book a guided tour?
Yes, IAM educators are available to provide guided tours of the current exhibitions on view. Tours can be customized to focus on specific artworks or exhibitions or your needs or the needs of your group.
Can I bring a group for a visit?
Yes, IAM welcomes youth and adult groups by appointment.
Do you have guided tours for school groups?
Yes, IAM has guided tours and workshops available for K–12 grade, college and university students and educators.
Are backpacks and large bags allowed?
Please wear backpacks on the front of your chest or place leave them in the checkroom; bags larger than 12 x 12 inches must be placed in the coat checkroom to help us keep the artwork safe.
Are food and drink allowed in the Museum?
Tea, coffee and water are available in CLEO, the community space. Drinks and food are not permitted in the galleries; they must remain in CLEO
Is there a coat checkroom?
Yes. The Museum has one checkroom located near the entrance.
Are strollers allowed?
Yes, strollers are welcome.
Is photography permitted?
Still photography and video are permitted for personal, non-commercial use only unless otherwise noted. Flash, tripods and camera extension poles are not allowed. For commercial photography requests, please contact Jake Trussell, Director of Marketing and Communications at jake@art.org
Can I take notes or draw while in the galleries?
Yes, you may sketch or write in the galleries with pencil only. Please use sketchbooks or paper no larger than 8.5″ × 11″ in the galleries.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Yes, IAM offers free public Wi-Fi for anyone visiting the museum.
Are there any all-gender restrooms?
Yes, all restrooms are all-gender.
Are there accessible restrooms?
Yes, IAM has accessible restrooms on the lower level and third floor of the museum.
What if I need to change my baby?
Our lower-level restroom has a baby changing station.
Can I submit my artwork to be exhibited at the museum?
IAM values the dedication and creativity of all artists. We do not accept unsolicited art submissions. Please stay connected with us for future opportunities to engage with the Museum.
Do you have a store?
Yes, the IAM store is located in the entrance of the Museum. You do not need to purchase admission to visit this store.
Policies
The Museum uses video monitoring for the safety of the art and the public. Please note that visitors may be photographed, videotaped, or otherwise recorded. By visiting, visitors grant the Museum permission to use the photographs and/or audiovisual recordings in which visitors appear for any Museum purposes.
Be respectful and mindful of those around you. Please do not make phone or video calls, play music, or watch videos on your personal devices while in the galleries. Feel free to use the CLEO space for these activities.
Visitors may not endanger staff, visitors, artwork or any other Museum property, and may not engage in verbal or physical harassment, discriminatory or threatening behavior, or otherwise interfere with the experience of others in the Museum.
Please do not touch the artwork, frames, platforms, labels, or display cases. If a work is intended to be interactive, this will be indicated by signage.
The Museum reserves the right to prohibit any items and to require visitors to check any bags or items.
Pets are not permitted. Service animals are welcome but must be leashed and attended to at all times.
Distributing non-authorized materials, gathering signatures, picketing, charitable solicitations, and unauthorized press conferences are prohibited.
Solicitation of business and unauthorized for-profit activity are prohibited.
Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited on Museum property.
All articles checked at the coatroom must be claimed before the Museum closes. The Museum is not responsible for any items in coatcheck or any unclaimed items.
The Museum reserves the right to refuse entry to any visitor with any of the following prohibited items
Outside food or drinks, including alcoholic beverages (unless sealed or for family or medical purposes)
Selfie sticks, tripods, monopods and any professional video equipment without authorized approval
Any object larger than 12 × 12 inches; luggage; large umbrellas; sporting goods; recreational equipment such as e‑scooters, recreational scooters, skateboards, wagons or hoverboards; and shoes with wheels, roller skates, roller blades or any other wheeled items
Pets (with the exception of service animals, which must be leashed and attended to at all times)
Firearms and weapons of any kind
Hazardous materials
Illegal items or substances
Portable speakers or other devices that may be used to amplify sound
Any other items that could put the art or visitors at risk, to be determined at the sole discretion of Intuit Art Museum
