Discover together through engaging activities for all ages as you explore the Museum, learn about the art on view, and make your own artwork with Chicago artists. Inspired by Catalyst: Im/migration and Self-taught Art in Chicago artists Aldo Piacenza, Derek Webster and Thomas Kong, explore art created by and for the communities we live in.

Museum admission and activities are free and open to all ages. 

Featured drop-in art activities include 

12–1:30 pm: Personalize your clothing with Chicago-based artist Kalief Dinkins. A limited number of t‑shirts will be available in various sizes, and participants are invited to bring an old t‑shirt to be upcycled. 

2–3:30 pm: Sculpt your own keychain using polymer clay with IAM Emerging Museum Professional Xo Ramirez and Intuiteens.

3pm‑4:30 pm: Using colored pencils, create a collaborative Memory Map” from your most beloved remembered places with Project Onward artist Michael Bryant
