John Michael Kohler Arts Center

$75 non-members / $65 Intuit members and students

Join Intuit for a trip to the John Michael Kohler Arts Center for a tour of the exhibition Messages & Magic with curator, Leslie Umberger. This exhibition traces American popular culture through a century of collage and assemblage, and presents a wide-range of work by self-taught and contemporary artists, including: Henry Darger, James Castle, and Martín Ramírez. Afterwards, we will visit James Tellen’s Woodland Sculpture Garden – an inspiring vernacular art environment. The price includes round-trip transportation, lunch, and two guided tours.

Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art promotes public awareness, understanding, and appreciation of intuitive and outsider art through education,
exhibition, collecting and publishing.  Intuit defines ‘intuitive and outsider art’ as the work of artists who demonstrate little influence from the mainstream art world,
and who instead are motivated by their unique personal vision. This definition includes art brut, non-traditional folk art, self-taught art, and visionary art.
